Artist Bio.

For the past few years, I have been creating figure and large scale abstract art. The majority of my work integrates form and space, which best portrays my personal expression as an artist. I am drawn towards these aspects because there is no hidden meaning, which may divert the viewer from my piece.Questions that I may ask myself when working on a piece include: How will my work interact with the environment and the space around it? Would the viewer want to touch it? Do I want him or her to touch it? Does the material work in its surroundings?

My work has a cohesive strength that exhibits a majestic flow, which is testimony to the many qualities of the metal I incorporate. My greatest skill is displayed in the magical process of taking a rigid material and transforming it to my will. I have many people ask, "What is this made of?" They express amazement that metal can be shaped in such a manner. My inspiration comes from nature and my imagination. I constantly study the many endless forms it offers for new ideas. Such pieces as "Hidden Peril," "Tree Lounge," and "Spiral in Time" demonstrate a splendid grace and flow that captivates the viewer. The greatest compliment comes when the viewer feels moved and inspired by my work.

Being an artist is a great journey. As an artist, I attempt to capture those moments in time which best reflect how I have discovered myself personally and professionally. I now realize how the events which occur around me translate into my work. I have undergone a renaissance in the past few years. As I reflect on past pieces, I look ahead to future work and envision what I will create next. Gone are the grand ideas to make a statement, and now my work focuses upon the art. So, why do I create art? I create to speak what no one will hear and to see what might have never been noticed. When someone stops and gazes upon a piece, if even for a few seconds, I feel a sense of accomplishment with my life.
I hope you enjoy my artwork; be it questioning why or how I created a piece or by savoring a great inspiring night at the gallery. I thank you for your time.
